I have a pair of skis that I do not want nor need anymore and was hoping you all could help me find something to do with them

I want to do something with these skis that is either A) good for the environment, B) good for other people, or C) going to somehow get me a little money

I am a college student ballin' on a budget and would most likely like to properly recycle them as I think they are worth no money considering how old they are and what shape they are in. I know there are many places to drop off used skis for recycling in Colorado but I live in Virginia and would love to know if anyone knows of a place in VA/on the east coast that recycles skis. Thanks!!!

Look for the fall sales at local ski shops where ski swaps are being held. I realize that means at least a 40 minute drive from Lexington to get to Wintergreen, Roanoke or Richmond, but you may be able to find a friend who is headed to one. Most of the swaps will take gear donations.

I had a pair with one broken ski that I gave to a local Adaptive Ski Program which cut the skis down to use as outriggers--ski mounted to the end of a pole. If there is an adaptive program anywhere that you ski perhaps they could use the skis for that. Then there is the ever popular Adirondack chair with skis for back slats, although you need about 3 pairs, and the even more popular shot ski, especially among college students.

When I was a kid we made a large sled using a pair of old skis and some lumber.  It was a monster but, boy did it go down the hill!

Sometimes places near ski hills collect them to make ski fences or the like.

What skis are they?  Do you have Pics?  There are some collectors on this site who may be interested if they are a "find"
