Spy Optics replacement lenses

Thread Starter

I recently bought a new pair of Smith I/OX goggles with the Ignitor Mirror and Yellow lenses. I do a lot of night skiing and day skiing in Ontario is mostly mixed light so it's pretty much the perfect lens combo for me. A few days later I found a great deal on a pair of Spy Dooms - an absolute steal at $99 so i bought them too. At that price i could get a third lens and still come out ahead over the Smiths. I haven't used either yet so the plan is to keep one and return the other. Both seem to fit really well but the lens change system on the Doom is way easier.

The only problem with the Doom is that they came with two lenses that I wouldn't have picked on my own - the Bronze w/Red Spectra (20.7% VLT) and Bronze w/Silver Mirror (11.7% VLT). I dont know why they packaged up two lenses meant for essentially the same bluebird conditions, but if I keep the Doom goggles I'll probably sell one lens and get one or two replacement lenses for lower light. Here's what I'm thinking:

-Get either a clear or yellow lens for night skiing. What do you guys prefer for exclusively night use?

-Get something similar to the Smith Ignitor Mirror for all-around daytime use. Any suggestions on a good Spy lens to fill this role? It's harder to find information for Spy lenses than Smith. I'm guessing something in the 30-50% VLT range would be what I'm looking for.

-Keep one of the lenses I have for bluebird days and trips out west. The Bronze w/Red Spectra has a blue/green tint, which I'm not sure I'll like. The Silver Mirror has a more common bronze colour. Any tips on the differences between these two colours?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I use yellow (forget exact lens name) for the same Spy dooms..

For more of an all use condition you likely want,  -- happy rose with dark blue spectra

Not alot of feedback on this thread ehhh..

I also live in ontario and ski nights
