April 3-5th East Coast mini get together? Maine? Vermont? - Page 2

Just ordered a 4 of 5 pack for Killington, skiing April 9-12.

I can be there the 12th and may be able to get there in the afternoon of the 10th.  I'm iffy on the Saturday.

Oh we are finished up here in Tremblant this week so I can't see us driving back up next week to go to Killington.  On a lighter note I am now a CSIA level 3 completed at Temblant today.

Congrats LS.  You rock.

That's equivalent to a PSIA level 1, correct?

:ski

Congrats!

So . . . Maine?  Vermont?  Dates?  Consensus?

I could make Killington, certainly.

If you look at SMJ's originating post, you can kind of see where this has gone. Predictably, as April approaches and becomes more real, anyone who lives south or west of Boston suddenly realizes how f-ing far away Maine is compared with Vermont.

In any case, I plan to be at Saddleback both days this weekend and at least one day next weekend as well, with the usual caveats about weather and other acts of God or Boss. PM me if you can make it. @bttocs was up there Friday and it sounded like it was pretty good. They are saying 70% chance of snow Saturday, but very iffy on amounts.

Will Saddleback be open after the 20th?

Doubtful, IME. In fact, I'm guessing the 12th will be the last day. Only a guess though.

Congrats!

A 1?  Don't you have an apprentice level below that?

Thank you, so glad I finally got the courage to go and be judged, wish I could join up with everyone.  I sure missed seeing everyone this winter.

So as the thread starter......

Saturday plans both this week and next killed any real trip, but I still haven't gotten to ski on any soft snow.

How's the coverage people?  Maine IS pretty far for a day trip, but if it's epic at Saddleback maybe I could come up in the next two weeks.  Are they open midweek?  How's Sunday River doing?

Vermont resorts, any ticket deals?  I need corn!

Still 100%.

I got an email from the Rangeley Inn (near Saddleback ) for a ski and stay and dinner special. it struck me as a good but not great deal. Might be worth looking at though.

So Killington this week?

This is the forecast for Stowe (mountain, not the town), but it seems to be the case all across New England:

Looks warm enough to get things to soften up...  not sure what affect the precipitation will have.  I'm guessing "highly variable" conditions will continue in New England for the time being.

Saw that. Gotta love Spring Skiing, ya?

I was out yesterday.  It was fast...good coverage but not softened up.  That should change, I hope, in the next several days.
