2016 Tecnica Mach 1 130?

Any changes from current model - design, materials, graphics? Any information appreciated.

I just picked up a pair from my bootfitter who got an early shipment of them from Tecnica. I don't know the official changes, but from what I see and was told, the liner is similar to the 14/15 version, except for a new sheet of material along the mid portion of the liner that is less prone to packing out. The shell's toe-box is more C-shaped now instead of V-shaped, making it more comfortable for my wide feet. There is no longer a "switch" to change the flex from performance and freestyle settings. Instead there is the 2-screw design, remove the top screw to lower the flex (Lange does this as well). The powerstrap is a newer design as well, no longer velcro, but a cam-lock strap design. I can take some pictures later tonight.

Thanks for the info. I understand the new MV and LV models are coming to select ski shops in the next few weeks. I was told the lower shell is somewhat more articulated around common pressure points than the current model. Sounds like a nice boot and hopefully we will learn more in the near future.

This is an all new boot that replaces the Inferno series. There are two version, LV and MV, the LV is the 98 last and the MV is 100. There will be flex ranges from 90 to 130 that is discussed here. You can actually see a visual difference between the two width shells. Tecnica has taken the CAS philosophy from the liners that were introduced this year to the boot board and the shell. Tecnica also worked with Cantology in designing a simple cantable shim that goes between the soles and the shell for was customization. Shell sizes will be the same as Tecnica used for the Inferno series.

I have one day in these so far and I will be writing a long term review coming shortly.

How about a quick short version. Like or not

OK... Thumbs Up

quick and short enough? ;)

I will say that that i had to do the usual modifications to the Mach that I had to do with the Inferno, flatten the zeppa, align the cuffs and I will be canting the shells. On snow feet is smoother than the outgoing Inferno which I feel has as much to do with the significantly improved CAS liner over the previous one which was marginal to the point I was using a Head lace up in mine.

Thank you sir. Any feel for how it would compare to a Lange RX (taking fit out of the equation)

Mach has a bit more forward lean than the RX's... About two degrees for what it is worth. The LV appears to have a lower instep than the MV Machs and the Langes for that matter.

The ability to cant a la the Lange is great, thanks @coupdevill from Cantology for that integration in design, something that ALL manufacturers should incorporate in their boots.

LV instep is lower and the tongue has less fluff. Volume difference between the LV and MV is 7%.

Liner is a huge difference. the C.A.S. liner that Tecnica is using os one of the better liners on the market at this point in the consistency in material and a construction that will not change (pack out) over time. The pics below show the C.A.S. material in the brighter orange.
