FS: Blizzard Bonafide 180cm

2015 Blizzard Bonafide 180cm

These skis have about 10 days on them.

One set of holes from a Marker Griffon Demo at 315mm

I would give the topsheets a 7.5 out of 10 because some ding dong

put marks on skis from their poles (see photo)

I would give the bases a 9 out of 10 -- really nice condition.

Shipped without a binder for 400

Shipped with a fresh Marker Griffon Demo Binder for 520

How do you manage to get pole marks back there behind the bindings?

No clue...

Perhaps pole slipping off the binding when attempting to step out.

That's how I did it to a new pair of skis.

Embarassingly, someone had to point this out:  I called up the shop that had mounted the bindings to ask them how they had managed to damage the topsheet.   Oops.  :o

Some of the gouges were deep enough to need some epoxy.

Some dabs of fingernail polish and you will be set to go. Besides, you ski on the bottoms, not the tops. ;)

The tops only seem important when you are trying to resell them.

What if the gouge is deep enough to let water into the core of the ski?  Or does that just not happen?

It could, but these marks are not nearly deep enough.

And @RatherPlayThanWork -- I'm not too worried about selling the best ski on the market.

Sorry, didn't mean to be running down the ski you're selling!  I was asking more hypothetically about how deep would be deep enough to worry, given philpug's comment.

The marks you've got don't look to be near as deep as the ones I managed to inflict on my skis, and those apparently weren't a problem.  So I'd buy these without hesitation, if I was in the market for a 180 Bonafide.

@SlowObstacle What are you in the market for? I have  a really big pile of toys and they can't stay...

Heh.   Toys meaning skis?

I've got something wide-ish (102), and something skinny (72), both of which I'm happy with for now.  Owning a real powder ski in MN doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense, even taking the occasional trip out west.

Got anything along the lines of a stiff, 80 - 90mm frontside ski?  I've got a pair of Atomic Blackeyes in 174 that increasingly feel too short (and too slow to turn, but I really need to check the edge tune).  And their tips flap.

One caveat:  I'm in the increasingly-large (sorry) over 200-lb epicski demo.  I'm not in the market for a 180 Bonafide partly cause it's a Bonafide, so addresses a hole I don't need to fill.  But I'd also wonder a little about buying it in 180, given my heft.  Not without a demo, anyway.

@SlowObstacle -- I'm at the airport on my way out of town for a week, and I do have some options for you. When I get back I will send you some thoughts and see if I can get you to nibble.
