Whistler tips

Thread Starter

Going to Whistler next week (I know, to ski on dirt and rocks) for the first time and wondering if anyone has advice on the following:

1) What's the best/cheapest way to get from the vancouver airport to Whistler?

2) Is there is a way to buy discounted lift tickets, either in advance or in town?

3) Are any areas of mountain that better snow than others (wishful thinking?)?

4) Any bars/restaurants that we must go to?

1) i'd think a bus (pacific coaches or something like that?)... i guess it also depends how many person you need to get to Whistler (a car or a chartered bus might be a cheaper option)... .. i know both time we went the bus company was whsitler conecion but it's a charter comapny so i don,t know if you can just book a seat..

2) i think a squamish 7-11 have some.. or you migth want to get an edge card if you live in canada or wahsington

3) i guess high up is better!

4) i'd say the brew house near the olympic rings but that's jsut because of the model train going around the restaurant/bar!

Just about a million threads on WB - suggest you do a search and find 100 of them to answer your questions. Short answers (that are all available in other threads):

1) What's the best/cheapest way to get from the vancouver airport to Whistler? Best isn't equal to cheapest. Pick one or the other.

2) Is there is a way to buy discounted lift tickets, either in advance or in town? 7-11 in Squamish

3) Are any areas of mountain that better snow than others (wishful thinking?)? Higher = better unless it's real warm then mid mountain

4) Any bars/restaurants that we must go to? Yes.
