Skis-Lacroix Is Back - Page 2

post #31 of 36
La Croix skis--save a few bucks buy Volant. They ski much better, and are more versitile.More than several ski seasons ago [ at the beginning of the shaped ski revolution ] I did ski [ demoed ] La Croix's and Goode's. Trust me they are noodles without any torsional rigidity. Poor edge grip on hard pack. They are Ok for soft snow and powder, but not all that dynamic.

True Doctor/Lawyer skis!

Also...why would any one want to ski on something named after a Native American game and/or religious symbol?

... on that train of thought, why would you want to buy skis named after:

-an energy type that has killed many tens of thousands;
-a biblical character (who was admittedly wise);
-a nightingale (Rossignol, according to Babel Fish translation on Alta Vista);
-a mountain;
-description of movement.

...can you think of any others?

Salomon make skis, Solomon was wise in his early years.

I thought K2 were named after the two people who founded the company.

WTFH is right. K2 is named after the Kirschner brothers who founded the factory.
But I don't think the brand has ever complained people thinking it was named after the (rather more famous) mountain.
The Kirschner brothers only seem to get mentioned when you visit K2 HQ!
