Mogul technique vid with turns, drills, etc.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?x-yt-cl=85114404&v=C3QgJGkDUHc&x-yt-ts=1422579428

Translation item: "Flats Barn" = "Flats Turn"

Clear progession from drills to turn.
Builds up, always the same motion.
3:00 - Mogul wedge. Poleplant followed by quick, full weight shift early in turn
4:23 - Javelin
6:43 - Mogul turn
7:15 - Quick turns

11:34 - Rollers, timing of turn, carving the backside, absorption

23:00 - Moguls
24:08 - Vision
24:30 - Poleplants in bumps. Don't reach with arm. Poles flick opposite each other
26:00 - Poleplant is after the crest, on the backside
26:10 - Pulling the feet on backside (left pane). Also hips high to clear the crest
27:30 - Carving the backside
28:50 - Hold poles & flick with fingertips, not full hand grip. Don't move arm

33:45 - Air

Throughout, lots of nice do's & don'ts in side by side panes
Some scattered dryland summer drills
Some recreational Telemark for fun
Lots of nice views of Whistler for stoke

Peace All

Cool! Aiko rips! Good clear explanations.

Excellent, or the best instructional video on WC mogul skiing techniques targeting at beginner level bumpers.

Can't wait to see PSIA instructors here commenting on widening her stance or making round turns, LOL

I watched part of this video this morning, although it all appears to be in Japanese, a language I know exactly nothing about.  Are parts of it in English?  It's perfectly understandable if it's all in Japanese as Aiko is Japanese, although it makes the finer points of some of her drill progression harder to understand if  you can't understand what she's saying.

I really like Aiko's zipperline skiing, she rips and is one of the few WC skiers that uses the deflected carved turn.  She does NOT pivot/slip, she hits the bottom of the mogul sidewall about 16" up from the bottom of the rut with her shovels.

Well done video, I really like how it progresses.

The example of the pole flick is great, so important.

I just with she'd explore skiing over the moguls as opposed to around them, maybe some day.

Thanks for posting.

I'm a PSIA instructor. I was also a TAJ instructor (telemark assoc. of Japan). Top 1% skiing is top 1% skiing regardless of the discipline. I'll say it again, Aiko rips.

There's no English. Sorry for the confusion... I'm a Japanese speaker and I'm guessing the OP might be as well.
