Americas Fattest Cities

Notice, very few cities within 2 hours of a ski resort are mentioned! Hmmmm
post #2 of 14
Hey hey - Seattle is the fourth healthiest!!!!

Not just skiing LM but think about some of those cities like Houston where it's blistering hot during the summer - you can't really get out in that and do much.

Probable factors:

communities closer to ski mountains are most likely among the more affluent, while urban centers and rural outposts, with a higher percentage of "non-affluent" households, will have a stronger correlation with health issues, including obesity.

my two cents.

I wonder if there would be a correlation between the cities and the cable channels subscribed to, e.g. Fit cities: few channels, but includes sports, fat cities: many channels including movies.

Quote time:
"We lost a lot today, we get it back tomorrow
I hear the sound of wheels, I know the rainbow's end
I see the lights in a fat city, I feel love again"

A couple of other things. Many of the healthier cities are the ones that get a real winter. People wrongly assume that its winter that makes them fat. Wrong! Thermogenisis: Using your fat as fule to create heat. Happens in COLD weather. That's why we say "burn" calories. Also, living near hills helps, Seattle, San Francisco, Boston.

I question the validity of this study because my hometown, Syracuse, NY, does not appear in the top 25. Syracuse has more "blivots" per square mile than anywhere else I've ever visited. (What's a blivot? 300 pounds of sh*t in a 200 pound bag.)

Is there a survey of where the most beautiful people live?
Failing that, how about a survey revealing the top 50 rich but terminally ill fathers with single daughters?

What I mean is, I don't care that half your nation is fat or lazy, I'm looking for a fit bird!

P.S. "Fit bird" does not mean Sugar's parrot!

Zorro, I've seen a few slender starling-ettes here in Zooloo. Unfortunately, they seem attracted to other starling-ettes.

We need a poll for America's best and worst 25 cities/towns for interesting, attractive and athletic Irishmen to meet interesting, attractive and athletic wimmens.

Much as I appreciate the compliment, I'm just a bit worried when other men call me attractive, unless, Ernie, you think I'm Bert.
And how can you be sure what I look like?

You call me athletic. The only time I run is when the barman rings the bell for last orders.

arrgh, is the subtle art of exaggeration lost on even you, Zorro?

What do you mean "exageration" - it's not exageration if it's true!

And as for you and subtlty, you're about as subtle as dancing naked on the mantlepiece singing "Subtle days are here again"
