Which skis should I get? [teen in NY]

Hi, I'm 16 years old, 5"9-10ish and weigh 170-175ish. I've been skiing for around 12-13 years and would consider myself advanced. I live on the east coast in NY go skiing a lot on bad icy conditions or hard packed groomers. I go to the west coast or up to vermont around once a year. I'm looking for a ski that can handle well on the ice and at speed but can also go off trail a little.

So far I've found the Brahma (which I think might be the choice) and the Kendos. Any recommendations for either of those or a different pair?
Also what about boots?

Thanks,

Frankie

Welcome to epic.

Personally, I'd rather have a good pair of boots and a bad pair of skis thsn a bad pair of boots and a goo pair of skis.

The challenge you face is, given your age, you and your feet still have a lot of growing to do.

But boots should fit very snuggly. If you buy new boots that fit properly, you may only get one or two seasons out of them.

I would advise against buying larger boots and wearing thick socks.

One thing you may want to look into is leasing. Many ski shops will rent equipment out on one or two year leases.

The main thing is don't make any rash decisions. Ask for as much advice on here as possible. Members are only to willing to help.
