I skied BC and Vail back to back with EpicSki member Fatbob. He may be a big guy, but he's like a dancing bear on the slopes. Very graceful and very knowledgeable about both mtns, a great guide for me and really helped me experience some fun terrain, particularly Blue Sky Basin at Vail. The weather's been great out here all week. Decent little snows early in week, then super sunny last few days.
On 2/7 we had a picnic and watched (with more cowbell) the World Championship Men's Downhill Final (with about 30,000 other folks - great crowd) from a hillside perch we skied to on Grouse Mtn.
Later we watched a few racers from this vantage.
Same photo, blow-up. This guy was late in the field, went on to recover nicely...sort of like qcanoe at Sugarloaf Gathering last March:-)
Fatbob on the attack, believe this was a nice steeper groomer called President Ford's at BC.
As a Brit on a three month ski sabbatical in the US Fatbob is amazingly resourceful about all manner of ski travel issues. And he operates my camera better than I do, believe this is in the Arrowhead area of BC:
oops, connectivity problems
And next day at Vail, believe this is teacup bowl:
