I know it doesn't sound like much but this is a pretty big deal for a little area that IMO kicks ass. Yay for  the western slope!!!!

This is exciting news for us locals. I'm new to the area and was excited to ski at Powderhorn but the lifts absolutely kill the experience. I think a new detachable express is going to be a really big deal for Powderhorn. I have several friends that do not ski/board that are excited as well since it will mean downhill mountain biking. GJ/Fruita are home to some amazing single track but you have to go pretty far for DH.

This was awesome news indeed!

I'd have paid 1.4 million for Powderhorn......sweet little deal those guys got on a hidden gem of a mountain.

It's perfect, fast laps on main mountain then peaceful stash hunting on the west end.

I see myself finally settling down near there in the next five years and Powderhorn is a great local hill between bigger trips. The trees are some of the very finest I've skied.

I hope they are successful....from what friends are telling me they are doing a great job

Hoping they get plenty of snow from this upcoming storm as I will be there in 2 weeks for the U12 championships.
