My wife, my son, and I are taking a half-day private at WP the last week of February.  Can anyone recommend an instructor?

(Edit for concision.)

I learned a lot from Rusty Guy at WP.

I don't know if he is still there.

He used to post here also.

Ask for Darren Lew....  He's from Squaw, and is an Examiner & Trainer here in the Western Division.... you can't do any better, trust me...   :)

Thanks. With a rep like that, he's probably booked, but I'll ask.

We're all intermediate spectrum (higher or lower depending on terrain and conditions), decent EC groomer skiers, but sucky elsewhere. If that helps.

I'm sure Lew is terrific but don't know him.

Do second the rec. for Rusty Guy.

Thanks.  Is that his name, or an Epic handle?

Quite sure that an epicski handle.  Hopefully someone will chime in with a real name for you.

PM him. I'm sure if he wanted his name bandied around, he'd have used it.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. Yep real name.

If Rusty isn't available, I took a group lesson with an older guy named Buck, can't remember the last name.  He was quite good.  Got me (easterner) feeling comfortable handling deep snow and then steeper cut up soft crud.

Thanks for the recs, guy.  Rusty Guy (his real name) is booked for the day.  Buck (last name still unknown) no longer teaches, but his wife, Joy, does, and she's "awesome," according to the guy at the ski school desk, so Joy it is.

(Auspicious name, Joy.)

Good luck, and enjoy!  I had a blast at Winter Park.

So did I, last year.  Conditions look even better!
