Vail 2/3/15

I skied Vail today and conditions were excellent.  They've had 3-5" snowfalls twice in the last two days.  Plenty of black diamonds with good long continuous vertical.  I'm here on and off the next two weeks.

I got a great, free mtn tour from Rich Tarmey, who was a superb skier.  Hope I got his last name right.  Just him and me and a nice lady named Laura (found out we graduated within a few years of each other from Univ of MD).  He took us on a bunch of low traffic groomers with great snow all across the front face of the mtn.  Then I hit a few of the back bowls after lunch. This place is so frigging huge.

Should be good conditions for your demos.  I gave my StartHaus Nordica Vagabonds their first really big western workout today and they were great.  Really helped me float a little in the back bowls with slightly sun baked partially tracked up 5" or so.  Real fun on frontside groomers too.

Did you find them as "turny" as I did while maintaining good stability?

Have fun out there James. Looks awesome, and yes vail is freaking huge.  Robin and I are headed out to Telluride on Saturday.  Think snow!  We will need it.

Today was great at Copper. We will be over your way for a work day, maybe we can meet up.

Yes.  Glad I didn't go any shorter than 177cm.  I also have a pair of Nordica Burners (84mm wide), used them first day, but might be hard to go back to them, esp if it keeps snowing out here.

It has snowed all three nights I've been in CO, 3-5" each night.  Today 2/4 it kept going in day time, maybe 6" new by early PM, this is happening at altitude 8k+.  Constant refreshing has conditions very good in Vail/BC area.  I bet Telluride is good too.

Excellent.  Send me a PM a day ahead if possible, my social calendar is so full;).  You guys do so much for EpicSki, would love to thank you in person!  May meet EpicSki member SkiNEwhere tomorrow at BC and RickG once or twice next week at Breck or Vail.
