Masters slalom ski reccs

Beginning Masters slalom skier here, mid point through my first season. Mostly training once a week, learning gates, did my first race last week and enjoyed it. Using a $30 pair of old 165 FIS Rossi World Cup 9S racing skis from the 2005 or so.

Like the skis and the racing and think I'll continue, my question is would a gear upgrade make a difference to help continue learning? Pretty much everyone here is using new racing stuff.

Something new is out of the question, but would a newish used pair of FIS racing skis make a difference or, something like a used Kastle RX?

I do have a Kastle MX78 in 152 but thought they'd be too soft.

165 lbs, 5'10", 49 yrs old, skied for years, but just getting back into it now. Small local hill, hard snow usually.

Ended up getting a set of new old stock 2011 Fischer RC4 WC SL. A pretty hard core slalom ski by the sounds of it, but in the shorter 155 cm length.

I'll be interested in how it works out.

$210 US for the ski, hopefully the bindings I have laying around will screw into the race plate, it sounds like it.
