First Boots: Saloman X-Pro 90 2015

Hey guys, just bought my first pair of boots today, Saloman X-pro 90 2015, I wear 26.5 and my feet are kinda small, 5'9 150 and wear size 8.5 American.

I tried on 9 boots (tried other saloman, atomic, rossi) and these were the only ones that seemed comfortable. I liked the higher flex of 100 (saloman/atomic) and 110(rossi) but the ones I tried weren't too comfortable.

These are my first boots so I am not sure exactly how a perfect fit should feel. The all obviously feel better than rentals but how should they feel in terms of what part of the foot I can move and what shouldn't be able to move? I've worn them for a few 30 minute periods and my foot felt fine so far. Any general tips on boot care and stuff would be appreciated as well! Thanks.

http://www.epicski.com/a/boot-fitting-which-boot-will-work-for-me might give you some info on the fit and feel of a new boot.

also my guess is your boots might feel OK right now, but after you use them, get better, and the liners pack out, they will be too big on you.

Size 8 1/2 U.S. is not a 26.  Have your feet measure in Mondo size, and probably return the boots for a 25.  Then have someone do a proper shell fit.

Thanks. I will go to a difference place on Wednesday to make sure. What should they be measuring my feet with? The two places I visited both used a brannock device with Mondo numbers to measure my feet. Cheers.

Brannock device with Mondo numbers is fine.  Just don't understand how you became a 26 if you wear U.S. 8.5.  Either way a shell fit must also be done.

Just an update. The other boots were definitely too big, thanks for the tip.

Went to a great boot fitter (Heino's Ski & Cycle) in NJ. Got into a 25.5 Salomon x-max 100, also had custom foot bed done. Will ski in them tomorrow and give it a go!
