Early March: Whistler or somewhere else?

Booked my tickets to SEA for Mar 1 - Mar 8. But I can easily change/cancel the flights.

Because wife is a non skier now, need a decent village/town/resort to keep her happy.

Breckenridge is out due to the elevation (wife just not able to handle it, haven't tried to work our way up to that height, but its to high).

Can fly to anywhere southwest goes from either MKE or MDW.

Well, I hope for the sake of you, your wife, and tens of thousands of snow deprived PNW'ers, that there's lots of fresh snow when you arrive. Hopefully, there will be lots of fresh snow, much, much sooner....

me too,

This trip is booked with points, so I can cancel, and fly elsewhere at anytime.

I'd love to go to whistler this year, because the southwest flights from mke to sea, are the same price as mke to den this year. And the dollar is strong. If I was taking the trip this week, I would not be heading to the PNW.

Sounds like Aspen or Vail would be too high, too.

Consider Sun Valley, base elevation 5750, good town and resort. Southwest flies into Boise about 150 miles away, rental car or bus shuttle from there. Good for cruising and moguls, not so good for powder.

we have been to vail/beaver creek, and it wasn't a real issue (my wifes headachs finally ended after like 3 days in Breckenridge, she was actually able to ride at beaver creak after a day). Is aspen a similar base elevation?

Thanks for the idea though on sun valley. I will check out.

+1. It's a very easy drive from Boise.
