Ski towns with good public schools

Thread Starter

My wife and I have started a family and are now considering a move to the mountains from our current high cost area of New Jersey.  We are looking for a great resort town that supports an above average public school system.

Right now I've researched, Stowe, VT, Summit County CO, and Park City, UT but would be interested to see if anyone could provide any more insight to great neighborhoods that offer the mountain lifestyle.  In the Winter I'm a skier and my wife rides a snowboard.  All other seasons I'm on my MTB.

Looking for a laid back, simple life - no more NYC rat race.

The mountain biking in PC is unreal. And well supported by community and mountain trails foundation. I hear good things about the public schools as well. But no personal knowledge.

If you're interested in defecting to Canada, Rossland, BC Hasan excellent high school.

But it's also in the middle of nowhere. And downwind from a zinc smelter....

But good skiing!!

Aspen has a killer school district.  The ski club lodge is right next to campus,  with a private lift up to Highlands, so there's less schlepping the rug rats.

Might have to rent a few years, till you qualify for deed restricted housing.  If you bring a business to town,  that employes locals, they waive the waiting period.
