I just booked a trip to Aspen on April 5th. Flying from Michigan. The deal wsa to good to pass up for lodging and lift tickets. I am staying at Snowmass. What type of conditions should I expect and has anyone ever skied there this late in the season? Any bar restaurant recommendations would be apprciated as well.

I ski that late or later every year. Typical spring skiing, watch the exposures.

Sloppy at the bottom and usually pretty good everywhere else.

Stewpot's the only restaurant in Snowmass that I can honestly say I've eaten at in the last ten years.

In Aspen, it's so competitive, bad ones don't last very long.

The BellyUp is one of the best live music venues in the country.   It's easier to stay up late in the spring, when you don't necessarily have to be first chair.

Coming from Michigan it should be lots and lots and lots of fun. At worst, mornings before it thaws could be equivalent to a typical MI ski day.  Expect good mashed potato/corn snow as you follow the sun around.

A ton of snow falls in April- your chances for a powder day are about as good as they get.  I wouldn't be too worried about conditions unless this season goes completely to hell.
