Help with first ski purchase!

post #1 of 2
Thread Starter
Hello my fellow ski lovers,
I have just begun my research on which skis to purchase. I have good boots and am finally considering getting some good skis now as well. I am an intermediate+ skier and ski more on the east coast then west as I live in GA. I want to get a ski that I can grow into skill wise and use for my few trips out west and down here as well. I try to ski 3+ weekends a year. I would say I'm a 6-7 level skier and prefer groomed skiing with no moguls. I am about 5' 11" and 170 lbs in good shape and am more concerned with performance(turning) then speed. I have been renting 165 length skis but am open to suggestions on what size you would recommend and may go up to 170.

I appreciate any input or good deals you may have.

Thanks,
Eb

I am/was in a similar situation.  If you are not looking for "the need for speed", my recommendation  are:

* Volkl RTM 77

* Volkl RTM 80

* Rossignol Experience 80

* Rossignol Experience 84

I presently own/ski the RTM 77 and it is a great cursing ski.  My significant other skis the Rossignol Temptation 80 (female version of the Experience line) and she loves it over her previous K2 True Luv for cruising.
