How to make my girlfriend empathize with my desire to ski during a NJ state of emergency - Page 3

Oh well, good fight over nothing. Snow storm was an epic fail unless you're on Eastern LI.

Maybe not for Maine!
Road ban gone in Jersey.

Dumping at my house right now. Whiteout. Haven't been outside so can't quite tell how much has fallen. Blowing hard. The really remarkable thing is that it's about ten degrees F. outside, so the snow is absolute total fluff. I would guesstimate that we've had 10 - 12" already.

wow, a whole 4" here in Hunterdon County. We got more snow last saturday.  This was an monumental F-up on the part of the forecasting community.  Not sure what and why but all the airports, highways, subways public transportation closed.  I closed my business and ended up paying employees for today.  damn, that just cost me a couple pairs of skis! :D

Ski the Hamptons LOL

@ tog. A rope gives you more range and speed. Jib off parked cars, go switch off a driveway to the sidewalk. Go a few miles from your home. That way the neighbors won't recognize your car or horse in my case. Ski jouring it's scary fun.

Lots of snow in Massachusetts. My wife texted. Me this photo of the table on our deck.

Ski Bradford!

^^^What's the most snow you've ever had on the roof there?  Will you need to clear it before it warms up and gets heavier?

It's just a deck not a roof. Lots of 4x4 s in the construction. I've left multiple foot depths there to melt naturally.

The roof on the house has a pretty good pitch, so not worried. Flat roofed businesses on the other hand. .. There have been collapses in prior years.

I believe they call it, "Getting Tahoe'd"

It's rough when Jersey gets more snow than Tahoe....and still complains. :-)

I imagine now that if Tahoe had a preficted 2 ft there wouldn't be many girlfriend issues holding people back.

Goes with the territory.  In ski country, you sign on to the adage, "No friends on a powder day."  The requirement is less clear in Jersey.

I suspect not many girlfriends left as we've all turned to day drinking to cope.  ;-)

I can get lots of good beer in NJ. Skiing. not so much. Reminds me, I think I'm going to celebrate our useless snow day with a Founders Breakfast Stout.

I only got about 5'' of snow right outside of NYC.

In watching the Life threatening storm via. TV it looks like the only ones who love the idiot media are the grocery store owners.   And I am jealous for some white stuff.  Every time it snows this year it then rains.
