So as you may or may not know NJ doesnt get a lot of awesome powder skiing weather. And due to our high population density "fresh natural snow" gets trecked out in roughly 1-2 hours on a weekend or maybe a half day on a week day.
Tomorrow most of my skis buddies wont have work and naturally We want to drive to the local mountain and enjoy skiing conditions that come to NJ once every 3-4 years. We have AWD subarus with snow tires, Jeeps with snow tires, audis with snow tires, and a 4wd diseal truck with snow tires. I am 100% confident we can get there with our states plowing considering I have driven in similiar in the past in the pursuit of skiing when the weather is amazing which is rare in this area .
I love skiing and I also love my girlfriend.
She thinks I am a fucking idiot and says things like "do I want to die in the snow". She is from the midwest but i taught her to ski the past 3 years and she has been to some big places (big sky , alta , whistler) but we never have driven in any crazy weather with her. She wont be going but she is pretty pissed off about my desire to do this risky activity.
Any tips on making her empathize about why I want to ski in this weather, and why its less risky than she thinks. I mean most people wont be driving, our roads get plowed well and the vehicles we will be taking have awesome ground clearance and snow tires and awd. And it would be 3 strong guys 2 mechanics and myself so we can determine physically what is and isnt possible driving wise. Mind you theres no crazy steep inclines or anything.
Any tips in general about this? Mind you if we dont go tuesday we couldnt go till saturday which would make it probally not even close to worth it.
any advice or thoughts are appreciated .
