"Quote" doesn't grab the whole quote

On the 2015 Head Joy Line thread I'm trying to quote the following post by Trekchick:

Here's what appears in the post editing box:

It would be nice to be able to quote the first line of her post, seeing as how that's what I want to respond to. Just sayin'. words.gif

Odd...I'm not exactly sure where to start with this one. Can you try clearing the draft and trying it again? I tried quoting the same post and had no issues at all. If that doesn't help, what Browser/OS are you on?

I hate when that happens. I tried discarding, cancelling and deleting it, closed and reopened the browser... still did the same thing. OSX Mavericks, most recent Firefox, maybe twenty - something. I'm off the computer now, will let you know when I try again. Thanks!

Isn't there some kind of check box for nested quotes?

Sometimes strange things happen.  When all else fails, copy (Control+C) and paste (Control V) usually works for me.

It wasn't the nested part though sib.

Default editor? Rich text versus something else?

I'm not sure what you mean by this--is it in the preferences somewhere? I don't touch mine often, so I don't know what to check.

I haven't been on the computer since early this morning, but I tried quoting the same post with the same result: hit "Quote" and the first line of the post I wanted to quote isn't there.

Here's an idea: is it possible there's something funky going on when quoting a post with nested text that starts after the first line? The line that isn't showing up is a sentence that appears above a quote.

If one of you would try quoting that particular post by Trekchick it would tell us whether it's a personal problem of mine or something generally wonky.

ETA: it's post 92.

Testing.... I am also losing TC's comment. Mobile version.

So if you folks have a minute for an opinion:  Super, Total or Absolute for the uber petite solid intermediate looking for an all mountain ski to make up a 2 ski quiver.   We just got her a dedicated powder ski but could use something longer than Fischer Prodigy 135's for a DD.   I am assuming the 148cm length but with a conventional tail would the 143 be too small?  I am mostly concerned about waist width and stiffness of the three models listed above though since she is so small.   We ski out west between a small groomer hill and big hill with great snow.   Any opinions are appreciated, thank you.
At her size you may consider the Absolute Joy.  She'll probably be fine on the 148.

You're on the right track.  This ski is easy to ski and should be fine in the 148.

I'm using the Rich Text Editor. Let me try switching and see if there's a change.

Nothing to do with the text editor or mobile vs. desktop. The remark by TC is not being picked up. I'm guessing it's something to do with the coding of her post, but i don't know how to look at that...

It must be tied to the editor. @sibhusky even though you may have Rich Text set as your preference, on Mobile only the BB Code editor is available, so it will be done with that when posting on mobile. I have no issues quoting it with the RTE, but when I used the BB Code editor then I see what you guys are seeing. I'll report it.
