hahahaha I hope you have good popcorn :)
But anyway, how about for the greater good of a healthier economy where the average Rank & File worker across the nation (or any nation for that matter) is able to better survive. Its just not responsible imo to do otherwise. Its the general masses or R&F workers that make up most the people in existence and in the workforce. It is those very people who must do well enough to spend money so that there is a need for everything. And when they spend money its what generates the whole positive cycle. It means more products and services are needed. It means the big boys do better, it means more jobs are needed to be filled. It means more business, it means more income for every one and it mean more taxes are generated. Its a cycle that is perpetual motion and in the right direction. Everyone including those atop of the chain prosper.
When the masses find it hard to survive they then don't spend except for only what is necessary. Its that spending of the masses that drives the economy as a whole. They then don't purchase the extra goods and services. There becomes less need for such things. Less jobs become available. less business is required, Less income is generated for everyone . Less taxes are generated and more of them are spent assisting rather than improving. Over all there becomes less money for everyone as all the corporations don't do as well. In turn they squeeze the masses tighter and in turn the masses can do even less and the viscous cycle or spiral goes downward instead of upward. So imo even though we are discussing one specific job which is a very tiny piece to a huge puzzle it is what is best for the greater good of everyone to make sure the process is a responsible one.
You say it shouldn't be about personal views but we are talking salaries and livelihoods so it is imo a personal thing. "Instructor" is not my profession but the process and logic of it affects all of us imo. I don't know exactly what an instructor should make but to me there is something wrong somewhere and towards the greater good when a lesson may cost 120 and the instructor is getting 11 to 15 bucks. But I know we'll go around with this and perhaps I should get a box of popcorn too :)
