Snow Summit "informal" meet-ups (Big Bear, CA)

I make day trips to Snow Summit so often and alone most of the times. I thought it would be nice to have an on-going thread allowing frequent visitors connect with each other on the slopes, perhaps for a brief nod of recognition, pairing up for lifts/runs, or anything inbetween/beyond.

As a starter, I'll be at SS this Sat (1/24/15). Is there anyone out there who likes to meet up?

Do you ever get up there midweek? Id be willing to meet up at the bottom of the hill ie. Redlands and share a ride up sometime.

My day trips to SS are strictly on weekends, not by choice but due to my work schedule. If I have time to ski during week days, I take multi day trips to bigger mountains out of town.

I'll be up at SS tomorrow morning...

Have fun in Tahoe!! I hope to hit Mammoth one more time this year myself.

I think I read somewhere that you have the same secs at me 5'8" 150

I'm thinking about getting the LSD 95 in 179 and using these at Mammoth.

I'm going up tomorrow (Friday).  I haven't been to BM yet so I was gonna do that at least for a bit.

You too. My dims fluctuate a bit. 145-155lb. I'm high on the range this winter as I haven't been able to ski much this year.  What's LSD 95? I demoed a bunch of 85-90mm skis and bought E88 172's...such an impressive ski.

LSD 95 is not a drug from the 70's. It's the Line Sick Day 95. I did a quick demo of it in Tahoe but I wasn't able to get a firm grasp of how it was but I like lightweight skis and this is one of them. I hear good things about the E88 so I hope Tahoe snow works for you. Which resort in Tahoe??

Zach, enjoy BM and hopefully they have decent snow. if Gernonimo is up, and they have decent snow, it's a great run!! Unfortunately, too much work for me. Sunday is my only free day...

Hopefully, Mammoth at the end of the month..if there's any snow left...,

:) Cancelled yet a gain due to my client wanting me to show in city A vs city B next week.I was going to do Northstar and Heavenly one day on each. I may get up to SS tomorrow for morning skiing.

OK, I made SS yesterday at 8:30am. Snow was a little hard until about 9:30 but then things were nice. Not until about 11:00-11:30 did the snow get real slushy. I powered thru until 12:30 before I quit. Skied Miracle Mile for the first 30 minutes then jumped over to chair 7(far left and my favorite run) for about another 1.5hrs then skied chair 6(the Wall; love the music) for the next 1.5. Skied the last 30 minutes back on 7. All the runs are still skiing well but because of the heat it was getting slushy fast :o( I can see Big Bear staying open for 1 to 2 weeks still.

By the way, NO crowds all all(at least on Sunday).

Thanks for the report - I didn't make it. I may try this Fri or Sat. How was the snow depth?

Appreciate all the updates, difficult to get inspired for SS after 3 weeks in UT and WY. So until withdrawl kicks in...

It's definitely getting thinner. You can see bare spots on the main runs now but I didn't hit any obstacles(that I know of...) but this weekend will probably be their last "good" weekend. If I had to pay 50 bucks, I would skip but if it's free, it might be worth 4 hours of your day...
