Boot suggestions for intermediate female skier getting back into it after a long hiatus

Posting this for my girlfriend.

She's getting back into skiing after a long hiatus. She skied a lot as a child and teen and was skiing a mix of blue an black terrain back then. Right now focusing on smooth carving at fairly low speeds on groomed blues, but would like to get more aggressive and playful ASAP.

She has a high arch, medium to wide feet, and very high calf volume. She is 28, 5'4" tall, and 160lbs, with very strong legs from rock climbing. Moderately active overall except for the climbing.

She is looking for general boot flex rating suggestions as well as specific boots to look at.

Thus far she has yet to find a boot that feels even tolerable. So far she has looked at Dalbello Luna 80s and Kyra 85s, and Full Tilt Mary Janes. These were all too small in the calf. She also looked at Technica Cochise 95s in 23.5 that were closer, but too tight in the foot, particularly the arch.

Suggestions to pass along to her?

did she fit the boots with a very thin sock?    and in the technica, removed the flat, crappy, thick stock footbed?

Ah! Now we're getting somewhere. No to the footbed. Boot guy (actually store owner) didn't even mention that as a possibility. All in all, he was actually sorta a douche to her.
