Help with choosing new ski [mostly WI, annual trip to CO]

Thread Starter

Hi guys. I"m looking for a new ski . Im 43 yo, very good physical condition, have been regularly working out 5-6 times a week, for over 25 years. 175 lbs, 5.10 . Skiing in Wi, basically all resorts, once a year Colorado. I bought my last ski in 2007 Volkl Supersport S5 , since that time I haven't try other skies. I like to ski fast , wide turns, fast if possible, no powder, on groomed snow only. What ski could you guys recommended for me? I was trying to choose based on online reviews but each one was great per reviewers opinion.

Thanks in advance.

The RTM 81 or 84 in 177cm, IMO either ski would be fine for you.

also IMO, to bad your not welling to open your mind to greater possibilities. If you are, then I'd suggest the Volkl Kendo.

Do you know how to make a short radius turn ? Once I learned that, I was amazed at how much better my skiing experience got. It opened up the whole mountain in any conditions. Just saying...there is so much more then just groomed snow.

The RTM is a really impressive ski, imo. But I find not everybody enjoys Volkl's Full Rocker. Personally, I'm a convert so I'll do my little part to evangelize here. But I will always suggest a demo if possible. Really, fun ski!

Yes, the full rocker....another reason I enjoy the Kendo, may be.

I'm also not sold on full rocker for that type ski, or a "freeride" ski.
