Hypothetical Question(s)

Skier's left ski tends to angle (toe) in when both skis are running flat on snow. Boots have previously been fitted and aligned, but over time the heel fit in left boot has become a bit loose. If you were to try and kill two birds with one stone, snug fit up and tweak things so left ski runs straight, would you pad on the inside or outside of heel? Or would you do something else?

Based on a realization I had skiing firm snow, where too much forward pressure would lead to my tails washing out, I decided to try adding a slight bit of lift to my heel. Did this by cutting out a small piece of adhesive backed foam and placing it on the heel of my custom footbed...

I originally got the foam sheet from tognar.com.

Adding this small foam piece not only solved the toe-in problem, it also firmed up the overall boot fit very nicely. Felt so good I also did the same for the right boot, and that also snugged things up with no apparent negatives.

Easily reversible way to experiment.

Well, with the original post I was hoping to get some feedback from the pros, but since none was forthcoming I eventually gave it a shot myself. Just thought I'd share my experience in the hope that someone looking in might benefit from it.

No harm, no foul?
