Just checking in hoping to get some feedback. Me 72 arthritic R knee for 2nd year.
Heres what I have done to keep skiing (almost 50yrs now). Experimented with lotions and elixirs, none have worked until now. Tried Australian Dream rubbed into knee around house and on hill and seems to help. None of the other stuff I have been recommended or tried on my own has worked at all. Put Ace elastic knee brace on and pretty snug. Have been walking, hiking, stationery bike ( a little really boring), leg/knee exercises for strength and stretching, took up yoga end of summer and really getting hamstrings stretched out etc.
Have also off piste and in the powder switched from my regular Armada JJ's 185cm to my about 3 yr old Rossi S7, 178. I really notice how much easier the S7 is on my knee so am thinking I will just go back to the S7 even though it is probably too short for me (193lbs) but do notice that it is easier on my knee.
Take 1 aleve when leave house, and 30 min before I hit the snow take 2 more. Do a little yoga and general stretching before leave home.
Anyone think of anything else I can do. Usually take a few road trips to BC and/or Montana and have been hesitant due to skiing 2 days in a row can be a pain in the knee and 3 or 4 I haven't tried since the arthritis cropped up. Feel free to comment - appreciation in advance - Pete
