The guys sure seems out of line, but who knows what the backstory was. Maybe the person who sold him the ticket told him he could ski the whole mountain or something. Honestly I didn't watch the whole train wreck.
But I will say customer service is at an all time low point IME.
The last two hotels I stayed at got an ear full because 1) no hot water two days running and 2) they gave someone else a key my my hotel room - that's right, someone just open the door to our hotel room while we were in it. All I got was a "sorry" and never any follow up with the manger. These were $400 a night hotels.
Oh, then there was the incident at day care at Copper Mtn when they couldn't find my daughters epi pen, which we left with them. So if my kid had an attack, I guess she'd just lay there unable to breath while they search for it (took them ~10mins). Once again all we got was a "sorry!". **** that, you put my kid's life in danger and there will be consequences.
I bet everyone of us looses it once in a while (probably not as bad as this guy though).
There is no back story. The man is a schmuck, plain and simple, and no amount of signage or verbiage on a trail map would change that.
And, not everybody looses it. There are plenty of folks who do not have tantrums, and not abusive, no matter what.
Out of curiosity- What consequences did you impose when the mountain employees put your kid's life in danger?
