the better half gave me permission to out west for a week alone. Im in upstate NY and can connect a flight to pretty much anywhere pretty easily.
ive been to colorado a couple times as my brother in law is out there currently and have skied Breckenridge, Monarch and Wolf Creek.
i like to ski in bounds mostly. Bowls, fairly open trees, steeps etc...
my options are pretty open around finances as long as its not exorbitant.
i know the world cup is in vail/beaver creek feb2-15th and i know presidents day is the 15th.
id like to go somewhere where this at least something to do the 5-6 nights im in town. Ideally there would be ski in/out but im open to alternatives if the snow/resort/town is worthwhile.
any ideas of where to narrow the search down to?
are there days in febuary to avoid? is there a holiday week? as ive said the 15th i know is a holiday. checking breckinridge, only the 15th is blacked out. i know out east the whole week of the 15th is considered a holiday time period and was unsure if CO/West was the same.
Utah and visit a bunch of mountains? deer valley alta etc?
CO i liked Wolf a lot but it seemed like there was no town nearby and sorta isolated
Breckenridge was fun but busy as it should be but plenty of terrains and peaks to explore. If im going to be staying somewhere for an extended period it needs to have enough acreage to explore.
guess i should be making reservations soon and im undecided on where to go.
