Goign on my annual out West trip with my pops January 19th-24th.
The destinatiion: Whistler Blackcomb.
Pretty damn pumped as this place is pretty high up on the bucket list of places to check out.
We're both advanced/expert skiers. We ski pretty much all over the mountain and like a good challenge. We try to keep it as pretty as possible when it get s a bit hairy, but we can make it down pretty much anything.
My dad had a bunch of points or something to Fairmont hotels, so we'll be staying at the Fairmont there which I hear is incredible.
Looking to hear about the conditions so far and what people are expecting in terms of conditions/how they typically are that time of year.
I've also looked through a good amount of the Whistler threads but haven't really found the other info I'm looking for.
Looking to hear about must ski runs and any great spots that are hard to find if you care to share.
There's no Unofficial Guide like for Snowbird or JH so if anybody cares to provide some insight on what areas to focus on, runs to definitely ski.
In terms of apres, would love to hear about some awesome bars to check out. We love places like the Mangey Moose with live music. Love to check out more local type spots as well.
Any restaurant suggestions would be great also. We typcically get 2 maybe 3 high end dinners, other nights we keep it more casual.
We both will eat and try anything.
Any suggestions outside of that to maximize our time and fun there is greatly appreciated. Really looking forward to hearing from you guys and to finally get there!
