Hi. I recently purchased a pair of La Sportiva Spectre Randonee boots. They seem to fit me pretty well, besides I am afraid that they are too long for me.
I measure about a 25,6 at my right leg and 25,7 at my left leg. I have a medium instep, and I use custom fit insoles. In the boot I have aproximately an inch to inch and 1/8 of play behind my heel. When I was in the ski shop I tried the 25,5, which seemed like an ok fit, besides my toes cramping up a little bit in the front. (Felt like they were kinda squeezed).
I decided I should go with the 26.0 since it didnt feel right at all. The salesman wasnt at any help. It seemed like he knew even lesser than me and Im a complete newbie. He didnt even measure the volume inside the shell (behind my ankle) which I've now read online. He also told me that the liners in the boots were pretty thin and that they wouldnt pack out as much as liners like for example intuition.
So my question, should I go with the 25,5 or stick with my 26,0 sized boots? Im a complete beginner when it comes to these types of skiis, but I've been skiing a little bit of telemarking.
Best regards.. :)
