Need help

Looking to buy skis for my 2 kids.

Getting different answers from local salesman - looks like answers are based on what they have in stock

1st kid:  16 y/o,  5' 71/2"  124 lbs, not growing anymore.

Looking to buy Volkl RTM 81 or 84.

He is an  aggressive, excellent skier with excellent form.

90% trail use Northeast.

Go with 81 or 84s?

Height to eyes 165cm. Should I stick with 165 or take it to 171

2nd kid: 19 y/o 6' 2"  245lbs

Also looking to buy Volkl RTm 81 or 84

Extremely aggressive, excellent,  fast skiier( reaching 50 miles/hr at times)

with very good to excellent form  skiier.

85% trail use Northeast

Go with 81 or 84s

Height to eyes 177cm. Should I go with 165 or take it to 181.

Thx

I think the longer length for both would be absolutely fine for both of the kids.  Based on how you describe their skill, fluidity, and speed they will want the longer, more stable ski.

Do remember that all those RTMs are the "full rocker" design, and they do ski shorter than their physical length.

Differences between the 81 and 84 are pretty minimal in use.  81 has the less expensive steel metal reinforcement, 84 has the Titanium reinforcement.  You will get a bit more stability and performance on variable snow in the 84, but we are talking about small degrees of difference.  Either sound like a great option.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
