Is my ski toast?

Today at copper, with waist deep pow, of all days, my top sheet had to start coming off.

I think I'm screwed since the ski is warped now. Any chance Rossi will cover this under warranty?

Whoa. Damn. Sorry. Doesn't hurt to ask about warranty.

Just so you know, they don't usually warranty impacts and overstressing.  Doesn't hurt to try a warranty claim though.

This can be repaired at home, but you will have to do some edge bending.

Shameless video plug -

Broke the wood core width wise frown.gif hoping Rossi replaces it

delam, deformed side wall and edge, you can try fixing it but it will never be the same and you will likely re-open it. I'm saying toast sorry :(

In my best Spicoli voice  "Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman, he's got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it."

Sorry dude but she looks totaled to me.

Since all is lost, I will buy the pair from you without the clamps. Pm if you are interested.

I'm gonna contact Rossi first. If all else fails I may just make a shot ski out of it and sell it to apply towards my new pair.
If it's a delam from a hard base hit, you're screwed. If not, it'll probably be waranteed.

Bummer.  Looks like the damage is way up at the tip on a Soul 7?   I've always broken skis near the binding.   Weird, unless you jammed it into a rock.

Maybe they put a little too much air in the air tip and it popped?  :eek

There's about a 95% chance that Rossignol will replace that, they are excellent at replacing damaged skis (notice I did not say warranty, broken is broken, a warranty is for defective which is not the same thing). You might end up with a single ski 'match' but I'd be really surprised if they didn't help you out.

Skis sent to Rossi. Apparently I had to send in BOTH skis, so I ended up paying twice the shipping.

They are all out of this years model, so they said if I'm covered (which they made it seem like I was), I'll get the 2015/2016 soul 7. Hope the dimensions aren't too far off from my model since I had skins cut to size.

Hoping for the best!

keep after them, if you don't, you may not hear back until Summer.

Don't let the season slip away because you're waiting for skis.

Hope you have other skis to ski with.

New Soul 7's are becoming available now, complete with bold new sidewall color... everything else is the same, so no problem with your skins. OP, you'll have some new sticks in very short order.

Rossi is going to replace them! Not sure if it was under warranty or something else, but they fedex'ed the skis to me yesterday, should arrive Tuesday. Hooray!

That's abuse!  What they hope is you don't "stuff it" again!   Many times they will replace it as long as it's very new. All want happy customers.

Slider, you abuser!  ;)

It's not abuse, it's broken. Things sometimes break, even when used as intended, it's unfortunate, but it is reality. Large companies will often give a free replacement to keep a happy customer who will hopefully 'promote' the brand by telling folks... like this. Smaller brand often cannot afford this charity, they aren't wrong either. I'm glad the OP was helped out, Rossignol is excellent in this manner.

I've had very good experiences with Rossi warrantee issues. One ski, one binding... The former a shop mounting issue, the latter, broken cams in axial 2 din 14 heel pieces. Glad it worked out on your Souls.

Much thanks to Rossi, I got the skis yesterday instead of Tuesday. Now just need to get the bindings mounted (after removing the plastic first smile.gif )
