Whistler Blackcomb - Jan 18+

With the heavy rain at WB not so long ago, I was expected northleast style dust-on-crust, but was pleasantly surprised by the conditions.

Early on, Whistler had some decent stuff off the peak on the Saddle, and over on Harmony. With a constant dusting it was OK. Late afternoon, on Friday Symphony chair opened for the first time this season with a lot of hooting and hollering to be had:

Got over to Rhapsody Bowl, and mine were some of the first tracks of the season:

It continued to snow reasonably hard, although the conditions never came out as good as the predictions:

Saturday night there was a decent snowfall (9 inches allegedly), which with the combination of the beginning of the Christmas rush, made for a complete liftline cluster.

Anyway, we got up on an early lift, and there was some nice scenery:

Anyway, you can file this one under "we-all-know-how-to-take-pictures-that-make-it-appear-deeper-than-it-was" file, but Bark Sandwich was VERY nice and soft, as the hordes hadn't inflicted themselves on it by 9:30:

Or even 10am:

Anyway, it's going to be warmer with the great unwashed descending on the place for the next couple of weeks. Glad I've had the days I've had so far.

Nice pics (love the pano!!) and looks like a great time.

Did you mean to put "December 18+" in the title?

Ummmm, yeah, looks like I was getting a little ahead of myself.
