My boss wearing my jacket on the cover of Ski Canada mag, sort of.

Here is the "sort of" part: For 2014-15 Sun Peaks has added 500 acres of expert terrain making it the second largest ski resort in Canada. So as an advertisement promotion they had Ski Canada wrap a 3" wrapper around the magazine with a prominent photo of my former boss from Elevation ski shop, Bryn Fell, skiing the pow in the new Gil's Hill area. He is wearing my Patagonia jacket; a garment that to my surprise has garnered unsolicited comments from both men and women.

So I go into a BCAA store in Kamloops today to by some insurance and there on the wall is a poster proclaiming that if you by home insurance you get a free Sun Peaks lift ticket and guess who they have another pic of skiing the pow in my Patagonia jacket again? Way to slay it Bryn.

No, the pics are not on line. Sorry, you need to buy Ski Canada magazine which of course isn't likely. As to the insurance company poster, I'm going to suggest to Bryn that he goes in there and makes arrangements to get the poster at the end of the season. It would look great in his man cave (or mine).

So they somehow extracted you from your own jacket so that they could help make some other guy famous by wearing it? Dano, dude, I'm thinking something went wrong there. No? Has the mag also got pics of this fell Bryn having a nice candlelight dinner with your wife? smile.gif

Not seeing it.  Which issue?  The Buyer's Guide 2015, Fall 2014, or December 2014?  Photo credits don't appear to be of someone named Bryn.  Where is it located?

Interesting side note:  I met Iain MacMillian, Editor of Ski Canada Mag while at the Toronto Snow Show.  Unbeknownst to us, we were speaking with his aunt when he stopped by.  Who is his aunt?  Nancy Greene.  Her connection (besides Canada's Female Athlete of the Century and Canadian Senator)?  She (and her husband) are the bigwigs at Sun Peaks.  So all the big shout-outs and promos in the magazine for Sun Peaks? It's likely because of Ski Canada Mag Editor's well-connected and famous auntie.  Yep.

My December 2014 issue arrived in the mail with a 3" wide Sun Peaks advertising promo wrapper with Bryn wearing my jacket, wrapped around the magazine. So it is not really a cover photo just an advertising promo that looks like a cover shot.

I might just have to start renting out my jacket to ski pro wannabes.:D

The first thing I thought of......  (I couldnt find a video clip)

Trading Places

Louis Winthorpe III: He was wearing my Harvard tie. Can you believe it? My Harvard tie. Like oh, sure he went to Harvard.

I should add that a couple of seasons ago the cover of the Sun Peaks Visitor Guide had, you guessed it again, another pic of Bryn Fell skiing the pow wearing my bright green Patagonia ski jacket. I guess my jacket has staying power.
