Found some wear on my jacket - can't tell where it would originate from

Hey,

I have an Arcteryx Rush jacket, that seems to have some wear on only one jacket sleeve. It doesn't affect the usability of the jacket that much, but it doesn't look  like any damage that I could pinpoint to a specific thing, so I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas as to what it might have come from.

I haven't ever fallen on any hard surface on this jacket except for on a wooden bridge (dang ICE), but I highly doubt that this type of damage could have occured from that.

Would love some input/advice. Or if there is another way to deal with this rather than just applying some gore-tex patches to it.

My wife's Arcteryx jacket had some wear along the shoulder seams, inexplicable in cause.  She's a snowboarder, and doesn't carry skis over her shoulder. So as far as possible causes, likely impossible to say.  Could be defective material.

Regardless, since Arcteryx have a lifetime warranty, I sent in the jacket.  They did a quick "nip and tuck" on the seam, and all was well in the world.  You could try the same, though they may say it's normal wear and tear.  Hard to say.  If it gets worse, definitely send it in for Warranty Repair/Replacement.  Arcteryx does stand behind their stuff; one of the reasons you pay so much for their stuff.

My Rush jacket, however, is in pristine condition after a season of good use.  Absolutely nothing amiss with it, other than some dirt along the collar.

Well I am a snowboarder as well, but I usually alternate between the arms when I am holding the board, which is why I am surprised it is only on one arm (plus I have only worn it for one or two snowboarding sessions).

Yeah, of course. Unfortunately, I am in Sweden right now (and won't be coming back to the states for another 6 months). So it makes returns/warranty work hard.

I did have some issues with some pant linings from arcteryx, was putting them on, and they ripped below the knee cap, while they eventually agreed to give me a warranty repair, they stated that because it was normal wear, that it wasn't covered in warranty. So I just wanted to be cautious about what happened with it.
