Hugh Conway banned from TGR!! - Page 4

She didn't want to have to worry about what sub forum it's in to avoid objectionable material. Someone said avoid stuff at bottom of page. All New Posts would pick that up indiscriminately.

I feel the same way. Another forum I was in for ten years lost most of its members who contributed valuable posts because of high school like fights, obscenity, etc. I don't know why I stayed so long, but finally said sayonara last spring. The membership dwindled to about ten active members.

Can you explain to me how navigating this

http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/forum.php

is any different than here?

Sure. Here I click on "New posts." And pretty much none of them are blatantly offensive.

The updated IOS app has a timeline, that puts newest posts on top without regard to which forum it's in...not sure about the desktop page.

Before I die it should be noted that l will get banned from EpicSki, go to my rest with my Lang's on, Spyder pants, Bogner coat and of course my Helmet.  Then someone can start a post on why Pete got banned, was it a contankerous, obscene helmet thread he started or was he just cruising for banned status due to his......................................... we'll see.

As a rule, threads in TGR that are NSFW have NSFW in the subject line. Fairly strictly user-moderated.

Most of the bs on TGR happens in the PR and polyass. They rearranged things and both of those subsections are down towards the bottom, pretty easy to stay out of there if you want to IMO.

This....If you saw something innapropriate then you clicked a warning button that notified as much to get in the particular sub forum. Go cry about it somewhere else.

I'm very new here, but as I was getting more into online skiing forums, I started searching for various topics and reading a lot of threads on a few different forums. This included a bunch on here and on TGR. Just through that, I read lots of posts from both forums on several different topics over several different years.

I definitely got the impression that TGR was unmoderated, or lightly moderated, as I saw more rude, lewd, vulgar, and personal attack type comments on there than I'm used to from several other forums (skiing and non-skiing alike).

And I wound up signing up here.

Just my personal experience, but I had a feeling I'd enjoy these forums a lot more than TGR.

Epic really does need an "Offerings for Ullr" thread though...

FU.

I have posted this in the past:

Someone on TGR once wrote that EpicSki is a safe place for 13 year olds to post.

I replied that in a similar vein, TGR is a safe place for 40 somethings to behave like 18 year olds.

IMO the above still applies.

Yeah.....I don't see that happening.  Meanwhile, when are we going to ski together again?

Well I may head south in my truck this year if the snow up here stays lousy - a sure sign that something is amiss up here is that I am on Epic at 1100 am on a sunday and not out skiing.

Raining up there too.

So...what's Hugh's new screen name? Is "Treewacker in __" available?

Not that I care, but might as well keep the charade going.

I must admit to laughing my tushie off at the #HughConwaymatters posts over there.

I wonder if a march on TGR HQ is in the works...

Has been, but looking good or at least better for this week, cooling down and snow off and on all week.  We'll see.

Maybe they'll all jump ship again like after Powder mag 10 or so years ago. I'd recommend pmts forum.

Why this obsession with TGR? Lame--the obsession, not TGR.

I've been wondering as well.

Why the obsession about helmets and fat skis? People just like to talk about stuff to fill the time between ski days.

And whether there's a difference between a pure carve and a plain ol' carve!

Because there's a 5" base at my ski hill with 2 runs of artificial snow.

Ahhh, I guess I've been too busy following the TGR drama to have noticed!

Flying out of GEG tomorrow for Kansas until the New Year.  I'm hoping it will be even better upon my return...fingers crossed.

Um, yeah, well...it's not like you missed a whole lot by not being there. 4" new yesterday morning but it rained on it after the new snow fell so....let's just say it wasn't blower....

Bring back some cold KS weather, please.
