Where to stay in utah?

Looking for a decent hotel preferably really close to a mountain so don't have to drive, looking for decent night life too so i can avoid driving.

I snowboard, and i would consider myself an expert, and love to party and what not (in my mid 20's) i'll probably end up renting a car at some point to try out a bunch of mountains.

can any one here recommend a good hotel/resort?

If you want to party in UT you should probably focus on staying in Park City.  You could search EpicSki for old threads on rooms/motels in Park City, or google for same, or try your luck on priceline.com and start by bidding low.  Here is an example of a place with inexpensive dorm beds in PC, never stayed there myself :  http://www.chateauapres.com/about/history.htm

Lots of for-a-fee shuttles from SLC airport to PC.

If you wanted to stay slopeside for a reasonable price at a nice place favored by snowboarders and known for good snow you might look into a package at the Brighton Lodge, but you would have to sort of make your own nightlife there:   http://www.brightonresort.com/stay/lodging/

There is public transportation from airport to Brighton.

A little Brighton eye candy:

Quite possible to stay in Park City and rent a car for a day or two.  When are you thinking of going?

That may be Sundance Festival week when all lodging in Park City is in high demand.

Yup, Smack in the middle of Sundance.  Kinda sucks, since the hotels are full and the slopes are empty.

Seriously, CO has legalized MJ and a lot more party atmosphere.
