heel slippage

So, I got to try out my new-to-me used boots this weekend. WONDERFUL!! the places that used to hurt in my old boots don't hurt a bit. However, I noticed while skiing that my heels were slipping up and down a bit and at the end of the day the skin on the inside of the  back of my foot was a bit bruised from all of the rubbing. I really think that they are possibly slightly too big. But everything else is so much better about them. Is there any way I can pad the heels to avoid the slippage?

check the shell fit, and see how much too big they are?

you can try getting some "L" pads for the sides of the boots, but my guess is the boots are more then "slightly" to big for you.   But try it and see
