What ski to bring in addition to my Auto's to Jackson Hole.

I have never been to Jackson Hole but am going to with 2 other buddy's from February 1 through February 7.  We usually go to Alta/Snowbird but I am taking my family in April to Utah so thought we would try JH this time around.  I am bringing my Atomic Automatic 117's but want to bring another ski.  I love my Auto's and will probably use them as long as the snow is soft and fresh.  However since I don't know the terrain of JH very well was hoping for some suggestions on what from my quiver I should bring for a 2 ski quiver for the trip.  My choices are:

Kastle FX94 in 176

Blizzard Bonafide in 173

Blizzard Cochise in 177

I think any of these skis would be great but leaning towards the FX94's.  But either pair of Blizzards could be a good choice as well.  I ski mostly steeps and bumps.

Thanks,

Chuck

Don't you think this is a decision best left until the end of January? Or are you shipping them now? I'd wait until you saw the weather of the week before you leave and the forecast of what is expected to happen while you're there. I know you are excited, but I have a locker with my whole quiver in it and never decide until I get to the area.

Just bracket the expected conditions. Remember when we all used to ski anything with just one pair?

Well, the FX94 is the most 'different', I'd say that would be the best compliment to the Atomic.

Yeah that is what I told my buddy.  Was going to wait until the week before we leave to decide.  And yes I am excited.  Just booked the trip this morning so I am getting ahead of myself.

I think it mostly depends on which ski you feel most comfortable on.

Your "second" skis would be the ones you use if we don't have a lot of new snow while you're here (let's hope that's not the case).  We have such a variety of terrain and conditions that a turny, carvy ski is a great choice for days when there hasn't been much snow.  It's entirely possible that you could be faced with a fair amount of hard-snow skiing.

So to me, the FX does THAT kind of skiing better than the Bonafide.

The Bonafide would be fine, too, but I kind of prefer the shape and feel of the FX. I would second the suggestion to make your decision at the very last minute.  If we're in an extended new-snow pattern (fingers crossed), bring the Bones, if not, bring the FX.

It's certainly a nice choice to have.  Thumbs Up

Check.

Your choices aren't skis I'm super familiar with, but keep in mind that absent fairly frequent new snow, Jackson has moguls.

Don't bring something you hate in bumps.

Thanks guys great answers. Bob thanks for addressing the terrain issue. Never skied JH so I don't know much about the terrain. My buddy only has one pair of skis and said he could take a pair of mine so I can bring 3 now. If you are getting dumped I'll bring Auto's, Cochise and Bonafides. If the snow is less than stellar will bring Auto's, Bonafides and FX. And pray for snow.
