Bumping this thread:
Input appreciated… I’m a 64yo advanced/low expert , 5’11”, +/- 188 lbs. I ski blues & blacks, on/off piste, no jumps - mostly in Utah. I was looking for a new DD to replace my 2008 186(?) Dynastar LPRs. The LPRs were still in good shape, but I’m skiing less aggressively the last few years. I do have wider skis for deep days.
I bought 180 Salomon Q98s and skied them several days at Wolf Creek this month. Overall, I’m disappointed… not sure if I bought them too short, or if they are just softer than I prefer (or both). They are very maneuverable and great in bumps, but carving/stability is poor compared to what I had with the LPRs. I plan to replace the Q98s, and am looking at the close out deals. The Fischer Motive 95s and
Ranger 96tis look good and I see lots of good reviews. I don't think I want a ski over about 108 for my DD.
Does anyone have experience with the stiffness comparison between the skis? Also, should I expect with the front rocker either Fischer would ski shorter than my old LPRs, but still longer than my Q98s? Other suggestions?
