Opening Day Seven Springs,Pa.

Seven Springs opened this morning on what I believe were 8 slopes. All of the frontside slopes except Avalanche andGooseBumps. Skiing was pretty good on a pretty firm surface and temps were pretty winter like in the AM.

Pretty big turnout and the Tyrol Lift had a lifeline by 10AM. We were done by 10:30 which is pretty weak but standing in line to keep skiing the same couple runs was the motivator.

Next week unfortunately looks warm and wet so the skiing at the Springs might get worse before it gets better.

Felt good to get some turns in .

My son was skiing at Liberty Mtn, PA yesterday.  They had four or five trails open including two on the backside.  He reported similar cold surfaces as what you experienced at Seven Springs.  Not too crowded at Liberty on Black Friday.  His first day there in 2013 was Nov 29, so he beat that by a day this year.

Went again today and the first 45 min. Pretty good, but the conditions deteriorated to frozen granular after that. They did make snow the top half of Tyrol on the bump line and that was the best snow on the hill this AM.

Only skied 2 hrs. And did everybody a favor and decreased attendance by 1! Going to try and play golf tomorrow if it doesn't rain.
