Edit window scrolling problems

Yesterday, I downloaded the latest set of "fixes" to Internet Explorer and Win 2k. After doing so, when editing or composing a long post using Epic's editing window, if you try to scroll through the material in the edit window using the slider bar to the RHS of it, the material inside doesn't want to stay at intermediate positions - it will jump to either the beginning or the end of the post.

This is a completely new problem for me. I am very good about keeping up with security patches and fixes, so I am pretty sure that this is due to a problem in their very latest group of downloads.

The workaround seems to be to use the up and down arrow keys to move the text insertion point around in the text. Nothing jumps around then.

It isn't a big deal, just an annoyance, so rather than give DC a long list of all the installed service packs, software, IE helper programs, etc. I just thought I'd put it in the record in case anyone else was having a problem like this.

Interesting, I have not seen this yet. Of course I don't use IE anymore unless I have to. Mozilla or one of the other browsers seem to be more trouble free..

I'll check into it. Do you use a scroll wheel? how does that act?

No scroll wheel, and I see it on two of the 3 home computers. The 3rd computer is a laptop, and I am in the process of getting the latest patches for it right now. I'll keep you posted.

Don't lose any sleep over this, but it is annoying to "upgrade" and you run into a problem. I guess this is par for the course.
