Requesting tips from Summit County residents

Thread Starter

Hey there.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I wasn't sure where to post this question. I accepted a job towards the end of November in Silverthorne not knowing that there seems to be a huge shortage of apartments for people working in the area. Is this true or am I getting a bad view of things from Craigslist?

Any tips on places to look besides Summit Daily and Craigslist? Do I need to just drive up there and go door to door to all of the apartments? I'm having trouble locating a great deal online and I'm getting more than a little nervous as I start work in two days.

Thanks for your help!

You could try contacting real estate agents and property management companies in Summit County. You also could ask the employer for suggestions. And there's VRBO (vacation rentals by owner). They mostly do short term, but sometimes will do extended periods for more reasonable pricing.

You also might have to look into shared lodging.

I dont think there is a shortage of housing in summit county! Its only in Eagle County/Vail/beaver Creek due to the world cup.

Craigslist will be your best bet
