Salomon X Max 120 "Hikeable" Soles

Thread Starter

I have a pair of Salomon X Max 120 Ski Boots that fit perfect.  I have never been in a boot that fits this well and skis this well.

What it doesn't do is hike very well.  The replaceable heels and toes on this boot are fairly thin and flat.

Do I have any options to put a slightly grippier sole on the boot?

Thanks

the only way you could do it would be have a boot fitter fit a sole pad modified from something like a lange XT onto the boot with some modifications...problems are as follows

1 it was never designed to be there

2 it is a bit of a "fix" which i might do on my own boot but not sure i would be happy doing for a client

3 Salomon don't offer an option on that boot, they would say you should have bought the quest max if you wanted to go walking

buy a Quest boot from salomon?   It has a walk mode, tech binding options AND replaceable soles
