PSIMAN!—A Russian Discussion

Thread Starter

On a lighter note...I just came across this skiing forum discussion of "PSIMAN!" on a Russian version of EpicSki. Auto-translation on Google Chrome brings some interesting, enlightening, and humorous analysis!

"WHY IS IT GOING?"

First, here's the clip they're discussing, of our world-famous and much-discussed-here EpicSki member, PSIMAN!:

And here's what they say about it (auto-translated from Russian):

"Why is it going?" (Thread title)

"Who imagines movement as such a thing in the snow?"

"Just a stupid piece of iron never read "how to ski" on the Internet  biggrin.png."

"Roller confirms that there is nothing easier skiing, blunt piece of iron and then goes bad.

And then the instructor, the instructor ...."

"And this is her happiness."

"you want to say that if such a thing to you between striped ski hang, then you too will be able to Kant arcs ?! biggrin.png"

"Happiness blunt piece of iron that is dull and iron. She is not scared to fall and not hurt, even if completely broken."

"Firstly this is not it, this is it - man, and he has a name - psiman .

Besides, it is not a simple man, a professional ski instructor icon_smile.gifP rofessional S ki I nstructor)
And he goes because he start to kick in ... that is the impulse given to deep (for his skis) virgin not stuck.
And turns because it is in the CM icon PSIA, which is pivotally attached to the legs so that all the time finishing one turn he moves lower is ahead of skis and pulls them over soboyv new twist."

---

I don't know what a "soboyv new twist" is, but no one ever described PSIMAN better!

:D

Best regards,
Bob

Bob, your Google translator needs some work.
"Soboyv new twist" is supposed to be "Flex to Release!!". (ok, i got carried away and added the ! -but it's Russian so smash a glass on the fire) They mentioned how since the Psi Man is made of dumb iron, the snow is acting as the "Flex Capacitor" to salvage the theory.

Then there was some talk about oil prices...

Now expect if psiman goes viral over there the real Big Guy will start skiing with his own double eagle shield and chainmail leggings. If that happens expect an invite to heli ski near Sochi. Just don't show up with the slalom skis cause if you outski him on those he'll drop an avalanche on you. I suggest the CDX plywood skis in the 2ft x 8ft configuration. (best to bring a 220volt chargeable flex capacitor for those)

Btw, the Russians are wrong. It's the psiman shield that's acting as the Flex Capacitor. The proof is lengthy though and involves the Morphogenetic Field which I'm not at liberty to explain. (even @jamt with all his physics phd's hasn't learned that one)

Of course being traditionally trained, (psiman's shield is a bit of a giveaway on that note), you'll find, as has been said by others most brilliant, "Einstein's equations [in the general theory of relativity] are highly nonlinear, which is why traditionally trained mathematicians find them so difficult to solve."

Now to keep it simple: if you do go to Sochi with the Big Guy remember that it was the Russian's who invented the Flex Capacitor. In Tsaritsyn.

Do I want to know how you came across the Russian version of EpicSki?

You don't find Russian version of Epicski..Russian version of Epicski finds you.

In my brain, Alan Arkin is reading that translation, there's no way around it.

Cute movie that "The Russians are Coming". Conjures up a simpler time before all hell broke loose and after all hell broke loose.

Bob-  Here is a little better translation of the relevant segment for you:

First of all, this is not an "it", it is a man and he even has a name - Psiman .
Besides, he is not a simple man, he is a professional ski instructor ( P rofessional S ki I nstructor)
And he goes because someone gave him  kick in the b&tt to give him some impulse so he would not get stuck in the deep (for his skis) powder. .
He turns because his CM is in the PSIA pin that is attached to his legs by a pivot in a way that when he finishes the turn, the CM moves lower, gets in front of his skis, and drags the skis into the new turn

Pretty accurate analysis if you ask me.  Russians know their physics.

Yes, but not nearly so fun. :-)
