Question about UTA Ski bus on MLK weekend

Guys,

I am planning a trip to SLC and planning to hit both canyons. Plan to rent a regular car since it is more cost effective as it will just be me and my friend. We plan to use UTA ski bus on the day that roads are dangerous to drive. My question are:

- On the snow day, will it be really crowded at the park & ride lot? Will the wait time be really long?

- We haven't booked lodging yet but we are planning to stay in SLC to save. Which area should we stay to maximize the chance of getting on the bus and have space? I am thinking staying near the beginning of Route 962/992 near 10000 S Trax? I am under the impression that the other routes will be more crowded? (we are heading there during MLK weekend). Thoughts?

Thanks!

Not sure if there are parkings near 10000 S Trax to catch the bus? It doesn't say that this location is a park and ride lot?

Yep, pays to board the bus a little farther away from the canyon.  That's what a friend told me who used to spend several long weekends in the SLC area every season.  Even the Park & Ride at the base of BCC is better if your destination is LCC.  He also suggested to consider boarding at Albion for the return trip if you want a seat.  Or just take your time around the GMD fireplace and let traffic clear on the road.

That sounds about right. Once was enough for me. Trying to load at the Snowbird center @ 4pm was a joke.

Guys,
I'm flying into SLC end February, no car, first trip to Snowbird.
The Resort hotels are $$$, but I'm hearing that staying in SLC would be a daily mission to catch this UTA bus.
Any alternative hotels on the bus route, nearer to Snowbird to lessen the pain?
