Get ready NorthEast;.  Here it comes!  Who will be posting photos of skiing THREE FEET of fresh snow later this week?

'Extreme and dangerous' lake effect snow storm to slam Tug Hill, WNY; travel could be 'impossible'

I will be skiing in Bristol, NY on Turkey Day weekend.  So I get to be happy about this.  :D

Not going to make it this far.  All we have is rain.

Some pretty classic lake effect snows going on.  I used to live in Buffalo, these kind of storms seemed never ending.

Six FEET of snow possible by the end of this.  Pretty crazy looking snow haboob just moved through too.

Bristol is making snow, but the Buffalo lake effect hasn't hit us (and probably won't). Holiday Valley is opening for the weekend on Friday. Unfortunately, we'll have a warmup next week, so Turkey Day skiing at Bristol may or may not happen.

Big change from last Tuesday-we were night mountain biking and working up a sweat...............

Tug Hill gets a lot of snow which makes the snowmobilers happy, but there's not much in the way of ski areas up there.

It is pretty crazy how specific this storm is.  In the course of miles you go from feet of snow to nothing but that is lake effect.  Bristol said on Facebook they've picked up a little bit but snow making is in full force so hopefully they will have something open on Thanksgiving weekend.

FYI-Bristol is opening tomorrow with the WROD on Rocket. Yes, I will be there, although I won't get 1st chair ( I have an 8:00 meeting). Gotta dig the gear out now.................
